Replacing Our 27 Year Old Stage: GoFundMe Campaign

Dear Willits Community Theatre supporters,

Right now your support to Willits Community Theatre is so important to us, as we could use your help in funding much-needed repairs to a vital part of our playhouse—our stage. Please keep in mind, as your hometown theatre, WCT continues to look for new ways to inspire and entertain you as our community.

For more than 42 years, the WCT playhouse has offered a special place for many great performances, including live stage productions, music concerts and educational workshops. At the moment, our much-used stage has become somewhat soft and unreliable in places and it really needs to be completely replaced. Using the tool of crowd-funding, your donations can help raise the $15,000 we need to replace the stage, as well as attend to some other major repairs to technical aspects of the theatre.

To get things rolling, one of our generous longtime supporters is willing to make your donation go twice as far by doing a Matching Challenge!! Any donation made to the Willits Community Theatre between July 22 and August 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000.

The WCT Board of Directors and our many member volunteers continue to serve you so that our voice as a community theatre can thrive. At the moment, WCT simply needs your support to refurbish and make better a crucial component of our beloved playhouse. With your support, WCT will continue to provide live plays, music concerts, and education opportunities for our local aspiring actors and our children.

Our current show originating from our Summer Youth Theatre Camp, “Peter Pan – A Musical Adventure”, will play from August 9 to 18. Our next main stage production, “I And You” will follow from October 4 to 19. Our Guest Artist Series brings you sitar master Pandit Deobrat Mishra in concert August 11th, and Native American Comic Marc Yaffee, August 25th. Dirty Cello appears live on our stage September 8, and SonoMusette on October 6. These are going to be great shows and a great opportunity to share live performances with your family, colleagues, and friends in our iconic playhouse. Please come join us!

You can make a tax-deductible donation today. I know you receive many requests for support at this time of year. It is a time of the year to be grateful and give back if you can, at whatever level is comfortable for you. I hope you will include your support for WCT’s efforts to help our theatre community thrive as you make a giving donation.
